In a sea of touristy mediocre gelato places, this authentic Gelateria is a true standout. They serve ice cream in a cup only, no fancy giant waffle cones here. I tried the ginger and cinnamon which was stunningly delicious. My husband had the coffee and chocolate.
Just really fresh, simple ingredients that really shine. Great texture... highly recommend for great gelato when in Rome! -

Location is great, but honestly not the best gelato I've had. I read so many great reviews so I was a bit disappointed.

I love gelato. I had it mostly every day during my trip as a reward for putting in so many steps on my health tracking app. However due to the presence of a certain gelateria back home to this day serves one of the best gelato, there was only *one* gelateria in Italy that was mind-blowingly good enough to consider it equal to my favorite gelato place.
The best gelato I've had in my trip was consumed here.
First it passes all my requirements for quality gelato: gelato is either kept inside a tin and/or not piled super high and colors of the gelato did not indicate it was colored artificially. This was true of all the gelaterias I've eaten during my two-week Italy trip.
Second I got lucky on my flavor selection. Instead of going for hazelnut/pistachio I selected on a whim. Their signature flavor was their honey gelato coming from Sardinia and I chose to pair it with ginger and cinnamon. Best flavor matching I've ever had on gelato. My only regret was not getting a bigger size.
There wasn't much of a line so the person at the front was able to help me out with flavor selection. I think that person made all the difference because I'm the least likely person to know what flavors would mesh in gelato.
This gelateria is located near the Trevi Fountain. If you're doing Rick Steves' "Heart of Italy" walk there's a lull between the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps. You might as well enjoy that walk over a nice cup of gelato. Luckily it's open until ~1AM so perfect for sweet treat after dinner/late-night craving or if you're going during the day, one way to beat the heat! -
